SmartTrail, a solar-powered wireless mesh network, is set up along trail routes with a cellular gateway at the entrance. Riders register their vehicles online, and the MotoLink-II equipped ATVs are automatically recognized by the wireless system when entering the trails. An automated payment solution enables a convenient usage-based billing.
